Today is my fourth day of radiation to the tumor behind my eye. My headaches have let up a little. But the nausea has gotten worse. My appetite is back a little and I am able to eat a bit. I have gone from 208 lbs on 9/4/08 to 184 lbs. now. I have very little energy and can barely speak. I am craving anything cold. Watermelon, grapes and ice cream are at the top of my list.

I have Third Nerve Palsy. I have a cancerous tumor, believed to be myeloma, behind my eye. It is off the stem of the brain and resting on the nerves in my eye. I am going to have to start radiation to try to shrink it. Then I will be going on an aggressive chemo plan.

Rev and Dex are working. Not quite remission yet. Need to go on through my vacation. At least the last two days in Texas I won’t have to be on it. I feel really good except for the constipation. It clears up on my week off and I feel really good. I have my health and energy.

Started Revlimid and Dex. The pill form is interesting to me. I only have to go to the hospital for blood tests once a week. Then Zometa once a month. And the doctor once every four weeks. Not bad.

Got results. In remission. Staying on Revlimid and Dex for two more months to make sure that it was not false positive reports. I had one of those in January. Don’t need that again. The only side effects are low fatigue and much constipation. Changed stool softners, hopefully that will help. Surprised the Onc as he says usually diahrrea is the major side effect. Oh well, one of a million again!

Verteplasty surgery on the vertebrae in my neck. One was replaced with a dental type material. Then a plate was placed around it and screwed in to secure my spine. The surgery was done by Dr. Rey at the James Hospital. He was great!
